Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on November
17, 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada She was the daughter of Sandra Kay (Gale),
Nurse, and Lance Frederick McAdams who is a truck driver and furniture moving.
She is English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel began acting as when she was a
teenager. By the age 13 she was performing in Shakespearean productions at the
summer camp for theater. After graduating, Rachel received a BFA degree from
York University in Theater. Following her first appearance in an episode of
Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson (1998) She was a co-star in the Canadian TV
series Slings and Arrows (2003) in a comedy-drama focusing on the struggles and
trials of a Shakespearean theatre group. She also got a Gemini award for her
performance in 2003.Her debut role in the role of Regina George in the hit
comedy Mean Girls (2004) instantly brought her to the top of the list of
Hollywood's hottest young actresses. In the following film, she starred
opposite Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation of Nicholas Sparks'
bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a huge success at the box
office and became the most loved romantic comedy for an audience of young
people. After the film was completed, McAdams and Gosling became romantically
involved and dated through the middle of 2007. McAdams next showcased her
versatility on screen in the hilarious comedy Wedding Crashers (2005), the
action thriller Red Eye (2005), and the Christmas drama The Family Stone
(2005).McAdams then went on to explore the world of independent film through
Married Life (2007), that debuted at the Toronto Film Festival and also starred
Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. Following her roles in The
Lucky Ones, a military drama State of Play, and The Time Traveler's Wife (2009)
McAdams was a co-star with Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's
international blockbuster Sherlock Holmes. McAdams played the shrewd producer
in Morning Glory (2010). McAdams also played Owen Wilson's romantic fiancee in
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams then returned to the romantic drama genre in
The Vow (2012) with Channing Tatum. McAdams plays the lead role in Terrence
Malick’s To the Wonder (2012) alongside Ben Affleck and Noomi Rapacace in Brian
De Palma's thriller Passion (2012).
