Steve Aoki

Steve Aoki was conceived in Miami, Florida on November 30 1977. American electro house music producer D.J., and record producer Steve Aoki is his nickname. Music executive. He is the third of Chizuru and Rocky Aoki's kids. His father was a wrestler and also the founder of the restaurant chain Benihana. He has two older brothers: Kana (sometimes called Grace) and Kevin (owner Doraku Sushi restaurant). His half-sister is Devon Aoki, a model and actress. He grew up in Newport Beach, California & graduated from Newport Harbor High School in 1995. There, he was a member of the varsity badminton team. After graduation from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts, the student attended UC Santa Barbara. He also earned two bachelor's degrees: one in feminist studies and the other in Sociology. He produced DIY records and also hosted underground music events from his Biko room at the Santa Barbara Student Housing Cooperative during his time at college. The Pickle Patch became a concert venue when the apartment was renamed The Pickle Patch. He also was involved in student protests during his time at UCSB. He created an organization called the Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist League Chapter on campus. In his early 20s he was running his own label, which he called Dim Mak-a reference to his childhood hero Bruce Lee. In March 2010 the singer released I'm in the House, a collaboration w/ the Zuper Blahq-like alter-ego of the Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am. The song topped the charts at the top of the charts at No. 29 on the U.K. singles chart in the first week. The song climbed into the top five in both the U.K. Indie Chart and the U.K. Dance Chart. It was included on MTV's Jersey Shore, as well as in the feature film Piranha and the trailer for Think Like A Man. In a May interview with HitQuarters, Lucas Secon, the producer-songwriter confirmed that he and Rivers Cuomo had just worked on a single. Pollstar has named him the highest-grossing North America dance artist from performances in 2012. His collaborations include artists like Afrojack, LMFAO and Linkin Park, Will.i.am. Lil Jon, Blink-182, Laidback Luke. BTS, Louis Tomlinson. Rise Against. Vini Vici and Fall Out Boy. He's known for remixes of artists like Kid Cudi
