Marcia Harvey

Marcia Harvey is an African American author. She is best known for her ex-wife of comedian Steve Harvey. Marcia Harvey has a quiet life, avoiding any media attention. While Steve hadn't even reached anywhere close to the success that he has now, they were married for 14 years. Rumours have circulated in Hollywood regarding the causes of their split. Some claim that Steve Harvey is cheating while others accuse him of choosing the field of comedy for his work. The tragic story of her life can be attributed to Steve's neglect of her as well as her two daughters while she was pregnant with her third baby. In spite of all the struggles, she has made a name for herself in the field of fashion and writing. Her books include "Marcia Eyes To The Soul", "Marcia" and "Marcia Poems From The Heart". The kindness of her character has inspired her children. There is not much information about Marcia Harvey's past, besides the fact that she was born in an African-American family and they were not wealthy. She started working at an department store called 'Saks Fifth Avenue'. Steve saw her at a reception party to a mutual friend few years later. They met and fell in love. They were married in 1980. Steve was employed as an insurance salesman that time and the couple was blessed with twin daughters in 1982. Steve was disillusioned with his work and decided to pursue a career as an entertainer, particularly stand-up comedy. Marcia and Steve experienced a lot conflict and reports later suggested that they were starting to split up. Much of the fame that Marcia Harvey enjoyed came from her marriage and divorce to Steve Harvey. Although the details of their divorce from 1994 are kept secret, it's evident that Marcia was expecting their third child at the time that everything went downhill. Marcia filed for divorce in 1993. Marcia had to file for divorce before the court after her divorce and Steve Harvey's denial of child support and alimony payments.
