Emma Watson

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was the daughter of British parents Jacqueline Luesby (a lawyer) and Chris Watson (a French mother). When she was five, she relocated to Oxfordshire and went to Dragon School. Emma knew from the time she was just six that she wanted to become an actor. For several years she studied at the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch, where she learned dance, singing, acting as well as other. At the age of 10 Emma was already involved engaged in Stagecoach productions as well as school productions. The casting process began with Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (192001) which was the film adaptation J.K. Rowling’s bestselling novel. Casting agents came across Emma through her Oxford theater teacher. After eight continuous auditions David Heyman informed Emma and Rupert Grint that they were selected to play Hermione Granger and Harry Potter. Emma's first appearance on screen in cinema was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001). The film broke records for opening-day and weekend sales and was also the highest-grossing feature of 2001. The film's performances as well as those of its young stars were highly praised by reviewers. The Daily Telegraph, a British newspaper with a large circulation, said that her performance was "admirable". Emma was awarded five more times for her role in the film, including the Young Artist Award, for the most outstanding Young Actress in the Feature Film. Following the release of the first film of the highly successful series, Emma became one of the most popular actresses across the world. Hermione Granger continued to be her role for nearly 10 years in the Harry Potter films. Emma has been nominated twice for Critics' Choice Awards by the Broadcast Film Critics Association.
